Assistant Coach Anne Decker
Alma College has named Anne Decker assistant women's soccer coach for the2007 season. Decker is completing her undergraduate work at Central Michigan
University where she was a four-year starter and standout for the Chippewas.
She set new MAC records for wins (38) and shutouts (27) in a career.
As a goalkeeper for CMU, Decker set school records for saves and shutouts
before beginning her senior season. She was twice named first team All-MAC
and earned second team honors as a sophomore. She is one of just two
Chippewas to be named first team All-MAC in consecutive years. She has also
been recognized as an all-region player by the NSCAA. In her senior season,
Decker boasted a record of 13-4-2 in goal with eight shutouts and posted a
goals-against average of 1.02. She also became the first CMU women's soccer
player to be named to the first team NSCAA Scholar-Athlete team.
She has been a junior varsity coach for Mt. Pleasant High School's girls
soccer program as well as working with CMU's camps and developmental
academies. Decker has also served as an evaluator for the State of Michigan Olympic Development Program.
Decker is a native of Troy and is working toward her degree in physical
education. Decker will be a tremendous addition for the Maroon and Cream in
2007.

Student Assistant Coach Rachel Comfort '07
Rachel Comfort rejoins the Alma College women's soccer program, but this
time on the sidelines instead of as a standout for the Scots. Comfort is
working toward her undergraduate degree and is completing her student teaching in the fall semester.
As a player, she received honorable mention all-conference selections three
times, was voted the team's most significant player in 2004, and in the 2005
season she led the Scots in goals scored and points. As a senior, Comfort
scored five goals and added two assists and was second on the team in total
points scored, converting on two penalty kick opportunities on the season.
Comfort coaches club soccer at the developmental level with CA United out of
Lansing and will work with the Scots to develop individual talent as well as
guiding the overall tactical approach of the Maroon and Cream.
