WOMEN'S SOCCER: Scots Settle For Tie Against Olivet in Double Overtime

Alma, Mi. - The Alma College Women's Soccer Team welcomed Olivet College to Scotland Yard to celebrate Senior Day for the Scots, and battled 110 minutes to a o-0 tie.

The Scots outshot the Comets 17-6 and had nine more corner kicks, but for the second game in a row, simply could not find the back of the net.

The Scots will welcome Saint Mary's College to Scotland Yard this Wednesday for their final home game of the year. The match is set to start at 4:00 p.m.

Alma College students have the ability to design their own area of academic concentration, with the assistance of a faculty advisor, to meet specific educational or career goals. In recent years, students have graduated with Programs of Emphasis majors in such fields as arts management, archaeology and anthropology, environmental policy and community advocacy, Foreign Service and international law, and music technology and digital media.

Jeff Hosler '02 joined the Alma College Athletics staff as the Scots women's soccer coach in 2006 and has helped the Maroon and Cream rise as one of the most talented young teams in the MIAA.

In his time at Alma, Hosler became one of the best players in the 30 years of Scots soccer. He remains the all-time assists leader and ranks in the top ten in career goals and in the top five in career points. He helped the Scots to their second MIAA title, first-ever NCAA Regional Championship and first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance in 1999 en route to first team All-MIAA and third team All-Mideast Region honors. He would go on to earn first team All-MIAA accolades again in 2001 and was named to the conference's second team in 2000.
