Scots Down Adrian, 4-0 in Season Finale

ALMA, Mich. - The Alma College women's soccer team improved to 5-14-1 (4-12 MIAA) with a 4-0 defeat of visiting Adrian Saturday at Scotland Yard.

Rachel Dotson (Chelsea), Kristine Husband (Ferndale), Rachel Comfort (Eastpointe/South Lake) and Amanda Bishop (Goodrich) all scored goals for the Scots while goalkeeper Pam McCarthy (Flushing/Powers Catholic) was credited with an assist as well as Geri Gaskell (Greenbush/Oscoda).

Alma ends its season seventh in the MIAA race.

 

Alma College students report levels of educational experiences and faculty interaction that exceed the national norms by significant amounts, according to the findings of the 2007 National Survey of Student Engagement. In the 2006 study, Alma students reported a level of interaction with faculty that ranked among the top five percent in the nation.

Jeff Hosler '02 joined the Alma College Athletics staff as the Scots women's soccer coach in 2006 and has helped the Maroon and Cream rise as one of the most talented young teams in the MIAA.

In his time at Alma, Hosler became one of the best players in the 30 years of Scots soccer. He remains the all-time assists leader and ranks in the top ten in career goals and in the top five in career points. He helped the Scots to their second MIAA title, first-ever NCAA Regional Championship and first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance in 1999 en route to first team All-MIAA and third team All-Mideast Region honors. He would go on to earn first team All-MIAA accolades again in 2001 and was named to the conference's second team in 2000.
