The 2008 Alma Women's Golf team concluded its Fall season on Saturday with the MIAA Championship, hosted by the Scots at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.

Alma finished with a two-day score of 761, good for sixth place for the weekend, while Olivet College finished on top with a score of 681. For the season, the Scots finished seventh in the MIAA with an average score of 378 and Olivet also grabbed season honors with an average score of 329.5.

The MIAA Championship consists of four one-day Jamborees at various league courses and a two-day, 36-hole season-concluding tournament.

The memory and spiritual ideals of the late Bishop Thomas Makarios remain alive in a figurative sculpture that was dedicated in May 2009 near the center of campus. The Bishop, professor of religious studies at Alma for 25 years, was founder of the American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church of India and the first Metropolitan Bishop of Canada, United Kingdom and Europe, and South Africa.
