Scots Perform Better in Second Day at Olivet Fall Classic

FINAL RESULTS

Alma College women's golf ended its two-day stand at the Olivet Fall Classic with a better day two, shooting 371 on day two after shooting 379 on the opening day to end the tournament in seventh place.

Jessica Kennard led the Scots with a two day total of 180 (93-87) to tie for 16th while Beth Hubbard shot 92-94 (186) to place 26th overall. Megan Stevenson (101-92=193) and Kailey Ruggirell (96-98=194) rounded out scorers for the Scots.

Alma returns to action Sept. 30 at St. Mary's.

 

Alma College’s teacher preparation program was rated “exemplary” in 2007 following a comprehensive review by the Michigan Department of Education.

Dennis Griffin

Dennis Griffin

Denny Griffin is heading into his 26th year at Alma College and his 20th at the helm of the Scots softball program. He moved into the head softball coaching position in 1989 after two years as assistant coach. His teams have never fallen lower than third place in conference standings and 12 of his last 14 teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to his softball duties, Griffin is the program director for the Athletic Training Education Program. He teaches first aid/CPR and sports medicine classes in the Exercise and Health Science Department.
