WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Scots Keep The Momentum Rolling, Beat Olivet 60-53

Feb. 2, 2008

Alma, Mi.- Despite shooting only 34% from the field, the Alma College Scots (7-10, 4-6) took care of business against the Olivet Comets (8-10, 6-4), winning the Fan Appreciation Day game by the score of 60-53.

The Scots were out rebound and shot below average but did the little things they needed to do, like making 22-29 freethrows, to come away with the MIAA sweep this week.

Leading the way for the Scots was senior Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel C.C.) who tallied a double double with 16 points and 10 boards. With today's game, Matuzak sits with 976 points for her career. Sophomore Meagan Hoblet (Cadillac) had a monster first half for the Maroon and Cream and finished with a solid 13 points and seven rebounds in the contest. Junior Heather Keenan (Charlotte) also added 10 points in the win.

The Lady Scots will look to keep things rolling as they travel to Saint Mary's College in South Bend, Ind. for a Wednesday night game on Feb. 6th with a tip-off time of 7:30 p.m.
