Sophomore Meagan Hoblet was named MIAA Player of the Week for her outstanding play at the Anderson Tournament.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Scots Get First Win, Beat Marian 62-59
After a heart breaking overtime loss, the Scots rebounded to defeat Marian College in another close game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Scots Outlasted in Season Opener, 60-52 in 2OT
In opening round action at the Anderson Invitational Tournament, the Scots fell to Baldwin Wallace by the score of 60-52 in double overtime.

 

In the more than 100 years since its founding, Alma has stayed true to its roots by keeping its Scottish heritage alive. Today, Alma features a marching band clad in Kilts, a Scottish dance troupe, student pipers and its own tartan. Each year, the College hosts the Alma Highland Festival and Games, which feature traditional Scottish games and revelry.

Charlie Goffnett

Charlie Goffnett

One of the top Division III coaches in the nation, Charlie Goffnett has built the Alma women's basketball program into a national powerhouse. With three MIAA titles, five NCAA Tournament berths and one national championship under his belt, Goffnett is one of the most accomplished coaches in the nation.

Charlie Goffnett began coaching the women's golf team in 1990. As head coach, he has established a competitive program that is always on or near the top of the MIAA standings. In 1997, the Scots captured their third MIAA title under Goffnett's guidance.
