Peacock Reaches 1,000 Points

Katey Peacock scored her 1,000th point on Jan. 28 in an 89-58 loss to Albion when she scored 18 points. She has 1,025 points entering today’s game – she is the 12th woman in Alma College history to score 1,000 points and currently ranks 11th on the all-time points list.

Peacock is a senior for the Scots and was the league’s leading scorer last season. She earned first team All-MIAA honors last season and earned second team honors as a sophomore.
 
This season, Peacock has led the Scots to a 9-9 (4-7 MIAA) record as they host Kalamazoo College at 4 p.m. tomorrow on Scot Appreciation Day.

 

Alma is one of only 100 colleges and universities to be named to the Templeton Honor Roll in the Templeton Guide: Colleges That Encourage Character Development.

Charlie Goffnett

One of the top Division III coaches in the nation, Charlie Goffnett has built the Alma women's basketball program into a national powerhouse. With three MIAA titles, five NCAA Tournament berths and one national championship under his belt, Goffnett is one of the most accomplished coaches in the nation.

Charlie Goffnett began coaching the women's golf team in 1990. As head coach, he has established a competitive program that is always on or near the top of the MIAA standings. In 1997, the Scots captured their third MIAA title under Goffnett's guidance.
