Scots Win Third Straight With 70-60 Win Over Adrian
ALMA, Mich. - Darcie Philp (Ubly) dropped 23 points as the
Scots defeated visiting Adrian College 70-60 Wednesday. With the
victory, Alma is now 8-5 (3-3 MIAA) while Adrian falls to 4-10 (0-7
MIAA).
The Scots commanded the lead the entire game and led by as many as 16
with five minutes remaining in the game after a 32-24 advantage at the
half. Philp led all scorers with 23 points, grabbing six rebounds while
Katey Peacock (Gowen/Greenville) had seven points, eight
rebounds, six assists and four steals in addition to five miscues for a
well-rounded outing for the Maroon and Cream.
Ashley Matuzak (Saginaw/Nouvel Catholic) scored 13 points and dished out five assists and had five boards in the effort.
Shooting over 52 percent form the field while holding Adrian to just 34
percent for the game, including a dismal 22 percent from three point
range.
The Scots return to action Jan. 14 when they travel to Olivet for a 3 p.m. match up.
