Alma Sputters In Second Half

ALMA, Mich. - Alma College women's basketball suffered its third loss in the MIAA, falling to Albion 61-55 tonight in Alma. Alma College falls to 3-8 overall, 0-3 in MIAA action while Albion improves to 12-1, 4-0 in league play.

Despite a 34-28 halftime advantage and a lead that extended to as many as 18 points in the second half, the Scots did not have enough to hold on to the win as Albion came back to out-score the Scots, 33-21, in the second half.

Freshman forward Erica Philp (Ubly) notched a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds while junior guard Katey Peacock (Gowen/Greenville) led the Scots with 17 points in 22 minutes before exiting the game with an injury early in the second half.

Alma returns to action Thursday, Jan. 6 when the Scots travel to Angola, Ind., and Tri-State University for a 7 p.m. tip.
