ALMA VOLLEYBALL WINS MIAA OPENER

ALMA VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS OLIVET COLLEGE IN 2008 MIAA OPENER

After a promising weekend in Whitewater, Wis., the Alma Volleyball team opened up their 2008 MIAA season with an impressive 3-0 victory over rival Olivet College at Cappaert Gymnasium.  The Scots took control early and never looked back, winning by scores of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-22 to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Next up for the Scots is another two-day, four-game tournament at Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.  Head Coach Cheyenne Luzynski's squad will play two games on Friday and two more on Saturday before returning home to host MIAA foe Albion College on September 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Spring Term at Alma is a one-month immersion on a single academic topic that offers learning experiences not typically available during the more traditional 15-week fall and winter terms. For example, during Spring Term ’08, students toured cultural sites in Argentina, studied lizards in Jamaica, analyzed World War II topics at the British National Archives in London, performed music in Italy, and examined the natural wonders of New Zealand.
