VOLLEYBALL: Alma 1, TSU 3

Oct. 17, 2007

Alma, Mi. - The Scots fell behind the Thunder 2-0 before storming back, taking game three, and giving Tri-State all they wanted in game four before falling 27-30 and losing the match, 1-3.

At times tonight the Scots looked great and at other times they looked like a team that was still a year away. However, the mark of a good team is how hard they play when they are behind, and the Scots fought hard and made TSU earn every point on their way to the win.

Kim Gillhespy (Cedar Springs/Cedar Springs) played tough at the net for the Scots and racked up 16 kills and eight blocks in the match. Senior captain, Amanda Risch (Cadillac/Cadillac) played with her usual reckless abandon and led Alma with 20 digs. AC also saw continued solid play from their pair of freshman setters as Hannah Hewitt (Alanson/Harbor Light) had 22 assists and Kelsey Erwin (Fenton/Fenton) recorded 15.

The Scots next match is against Adrian College on Oct. 20 with a start time of noon.
