VOLLEYBALL: Wittenberg Border Battle Day One Results

The Alma College Volleyball Team traveled to Ohio this weekend to play in the Wittenberg University Border Battle. This tournament hosts some of the best teams in DIII, and after two close hard fought matches, the Scots are 0-2 on the weekend.

In the first match of the tournament, the Scots took on Baldwin-Wallace and fell in four games, 30-28, 30-28, 27-30, 30-22. Coach Cheyenne Luzynski was pleased with her teams performance, in the close loss, and pointed out the play of Kim Gillhespy (Cedar Springs/Cedar Springs) who had 15 kills and senior Mandy Risch (Cadillac/Cadillac) who led the team with 35 digs.

In their second match of the night on Friday, the Scots faced off against Ohio Northern, currently ranked #18 in the country, and lost in three straight games (30-18, 31-29, 30-27).

The going won't get much easier for the Scots today, as they take the floor opposite of Wittenberg University, the top team in DIII according to the rankings. Check back for results.
