Email Coach LuzynskiAlma College Athletics appointed Cheyenne Luzynski as head volleyball coach beginning with the 2007 spring non-traditional season. Luzynski is the eighth head coach in the 31-year history of Alma College volleyball. In her first season with the Scots, Luzynski led the young team to a 8-22 record.
Luzynski served as an assistant volleyball coach for two seasons and has led the junior varsity program during that time. She has served as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program, leading its junior varsity program and is an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s track and field teams at Alma College. Additionally, Luzynski is an assistant Athletic Director and serves as the Senior Woman Administrator within the department.
In the 30 seasons of Scots volleyball, Alma has compiled an overall record of 519-396, a winning percentage of .567.
Luzynski graduated summa cum laude from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2005 and is a Potterville High School graduate where she received the 1999 Female High School Heisman Award for the State of Michigan.
She played on the CMU club volleyball team for five years, serving as combined president/coach/captain during that time. She helped the club team become one of the nation’s finest while honing her coaching skills at the camp level.
Since graduating, Luzynski has served as an assistant volleyball coach at Alma College and head coach of the junior varsity volleyball program. In addition, she coached track and field at Fulton Middleton High School for three years.
