Assistant/JV Head Coach Casey Hilts

Junior Varsity Head Coach Casey Hilts

Coach Casey Hilts brings a love for the game and 16 years of coaching experience as he joins the Alma College Volleyball coaching staff for the upcoming 2008 season.

 

Coach Hilts comes to the Scots following two conference championship seasons as the coach of the Pewamo Westphalia Varsity Volleyball team. Hill has also spent time on the staff of the Michigan State University Club team and also working with the Spartan staff at summer camps. This experience combined with stops with Great Lakes Christian College, Dewitt High School, Williamston High School, and sixteen years as an AAU coach in the greater Lansing area gives Coach Hilts an outstanding volleyball background and will make him a key addition to the Alma Athletic Department.

Coach Hilts resides in St. Johns, Michigan and works as an engineer for International Automotive Components.

 

 

Alma College received a $150,000 grant from the National Science Foundation in August 2009 for research that could eventually lead to the development of more effective drugs to treat and prevent certain kinds of influenza, including human infections of swine and avian flu. "This project provides an opportunity for students to get involved in important laboratory research," says faculty member Jeff Turk, principal investigator.

Cheyenne Luzynski

Cheyenne Luzynski

Alma College Athletics appointed Cheyenne Luzynski as head volleyball coach beginning with the 2007 spring non-traditional season. Luzynski is the eighth head coach in the 31-year history of Alma College volleyball.

Luzynski has served as an assistant volleyball coach for two seasons and has led the junior varsity program during that time. She has served as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program, leading its junior varsity program and is an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s track and field teams at Alma College. Additionally, Luzynski has been named an assistant Athletic Director and serves as the Senior Woman Administrator within the department.
