TRACK & FIELD: North Central Meet Results

Today was a good day for the Scots as they saw sophomore Taylor Jackson (Stanford/Meridian) jump 2.09m in the high jump to provisionally qualify for Nationals at today's "Last Chance Meet" at North Central College. The height ranks him #4 Nationally.

Also competing for the Maroon and Cream were:

Amanda Weber (Portland/St. Patrick's) - Javelin 35+ meter

Kyle Percival (Lansing/Waverl) - 100m - 10.65 HT
Eric Braun (Hale/Hale) - 100m 11.39 - season PR.
Steve Rose (Essexeville/Garber) - 800m

Alma College students have the ability to design their own area of academic concentration, with the assistance of a faculty advisor, to meet specific educational or career goals. In recent years, students have graduated with Programs of Emphasis majors in such fields as arts management, archaeology and anthropology, environmental policy and community advocacy, Foreign Service and international law, and music technology and digital media.

Dennis Griffin

Dennis Griffin

Denny Griffin is heading into his 27th year at Alma College and his 20th at the helm of the Scots softball program. He moved into the head softball coaching position in 1989 after two years as assistant coach. His teams have never fallen lower than third place in conference standings and 12 of his last 14 teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to his softball duties, Griffin is the program director for the Athletic Training Education Program. He teaches first aid/CPR and sports medicine classes in the Exercise and Health Science Department.
