TRACK & FIELD: Kyle Percival Qualifies for Nationals

April 7, 2008

Last year it took, Alma College standout, Kyle Percival (Lansing/Waverly) until the MIAA Championships to qualify for Nationals where he ended up finishing in 8th place. This year, he decided to make the season a little less stressful, qualifying before even competing at a conference meet with a time of 10.5 seconds at the Ferris State University Invitational.

Despite running into the wind, Percival was able to beat the qualifying time by five hundredths of a second on his way to winning the race by nearly two tenths of a second.

With NCAA D3 qualifying behind him, Percival will focus his attention on bringing home the MIAA championship, the first half of which will be held in the form of a True Team Scored Jamboree hosted by Alma College on April 12th.

Alma College’s partnership with the Pine River Superfund Citizen Task Force, an EPA-sanctioned Community Advisory Group (CAG), was selected as a finalist for Michigan’s 2007 Carter Partnership Award. The Task Force is recognized as one of the most influential and active CAGs nationally and as having the largest membership of any CAG in the United States.
