TRACK & FIELD: Scots Compete in Rhodes Invitational

The Alma College Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Teams were one of thirteen teams who competed at the Lynx Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Alma College Women’s Team led the way this weekend finishing in fourth place overall. Senior, Amanda Weber (Portland/St. Patricks), finished first in javelin by over three meters on her third shot. Junior, Andrea Richardson (Mayville), finished third in the pole vault and fourth in the high jump.
Miriam Johnson (Saginaw/Nouvel Catholic) took fourth place finish in the 10k run with a time of 43:21.7. The foursome of Kristina Fuehring (Hart), Ashleigh Ocenasek (Perry), Erika Sherwood (St. Johns), and Emily Scherer (Marshall) finished fifth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:22.7. Fuehring also finished fifth in the 400 meter dash.
On the Men’s side, junior sprinter, Kyle Percival (Lansing/Waverly), took a third place finish in the 100 meter dash. Chris Francis (Lapeer/Lapeer East) also performed well for the Scots taking home a fifth place finish in the long jump, eighth in the triple jump, and twelfth place in the 400 Meter Dash (0:52.89).
The Scots’ teams return to action on April 5th when they travel to Ferris State for the Bulldog Invitational at 11 am.
