Feb. 9, 2008

The Alma College Track & Field squads traveled to Saginaw to compete in the Collegiate Open at SVSU and brought home fifth place finishes by both the men and the women.

All-American Kyle Percival (Lansing/Waverly) continued to impress early on in the season as he had a strong showing, coming away with second place in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.99 seconds.

New comer, Kevin Bacon (Vassar) was outstanding, bringing in four top three finishes including first place in the long jump with a distance of 6.64.

Head Coach Gordan Aldrich commented, "We had a tremendous effort by several of our athletes who were competing in multiple events. It was very impressive."

The Scots have two weeks before their next event when they will participate in the Jack Skoog Invitational at Central Michigan University on Feb. 22.

Aldrich added, "With two more weeks of solid training, we should be ready to charge into CMU and have a good showing."
