Scots Wrap Up Season With MIAA Championships

FINAL RESULTS

ALBION, Mich. - The Alma College men's track team concluded its season at the MIAA Championships Friday afternoon. The Scots finished sixth overall with 28 points while Calvin won the title with 284.5 points.

Kyle Percival finished fourth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.03 and was seventh in the 200 with a time of 23:07. Dustin Roberson ended eighth in the 400 meter with a time of 53.24.

Rory Wildner finished fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 56.82. Roberson finished seventh in long jump with a distance of 20-07.75 and eighth in triple jump with a mark of 12.16 meters.

In javelin, Karl Recker finished seventh with a mark of 142-07.

The 4x100 relay team of Kyle Percival, Mat Lambourn, Brian McIntosh and Derek Curry finished third with a time of 43.37. The 4x400 team of Chris Breznau, Steve Rose, Dustin Roberson and Rory Wildner finished fifth in the event with a time of 3:30.94.

 

Alma College is one of eight Michigan colleges and universities — and one of 270 out of 4,411 colleges and universities in the nation, or 6 percent — to hold membership in The Phi Beta Kappa Society, the nation’s oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honors organization.

Jeff Hosler '02 joined the Alma College Athletics staff as the Scots women's soccer coach in 2006 and has helped the Maroon and Cream rise as one of the most talented young teams in the MIAA.

In his time at Alma, Hosler became one of the best players in the 30 years of Scots soccer. He remains the all-time assists leader and ranks in the top ten in career goals and in the top five in career points. He helped the Scots to their second MIAA title, first-ever NCAA Regional Championship and first-ever NCAA Final Four appearance in 1999 en route to first team All-MIAA and third team All-Mideast Region honors. He would go on to earn first team All-MIAA accolades again in 2001 and was named to the conference's second team in 2000.
