Scots End MIAA Championships Fourth Overall

FINAL RESULTS

ALBION, Mich. - The Alma College women's track team concluded its season with the MIAA Championships Friday in Albion. The team finished fourth overall with 51 points. Calvin again won the crown with 347.5 points.

Emily Sias finished third in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:01.47. Kim Sinclair finished seventh in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:12.25. Erin Hemerling was fifth in the 3000 steeplechase with a time of 12:48.09.

In triple jump action Tara Bjorne finished fourth with a distance of 9.93 meters. In shot put, Caitlin Fowler threw 34-04.50 to finish sixth in the event and finished sixth in discus with a throw of 110-09.

Tara Bjorne finished seventh overall in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.29 and Kristina Fuehring finished seventh in the 400 meter in a time of 1:03.48.

Andrea Richardson hit a mark of 5-02.00 in the high jump, good for fourth place and finished seventh in the pole vault with a height of 9-06.00.

 

Alma students can explore the environmental wonders of the Galapagos Islands, practice Spanish language skills, study Ecuadorian culture, complete coursework in business finance, and fulfill a South American internship in entrepreneurship through Alma College’s one-of-a-kind partnership with Equatorialis University in Quito, Ecuador.

Nathan Kronewetter

Alma College men’s soccer is in the process of rebuilding a once dominating program, and has made strides under the direction of Nathan Kronewetter who was hired before the 2006 season.

Kronewetter earned his bachelor of arts from Hope College in 1996 in Studio Art and continued his studies at Ohio Wesleyan University in Education. A four-year player and three-year starter for the Flying Dutchmen, he served as a senior captain in 1996. Nathan led Hope to three MIAA Championships and two NCAA playoff berths including an NCAA quarterfinal appearance in 1994.
