Maroon and Cream Continue Indoor Action at CMU's Jack Skoog Open

MT. PLEASANT - The men's track and field team continued indoor action at the Jack Skoog Open at Central Michigan Friday.

Sprinter Kyle Percival (Lansing/Waverly) was Alma's top finisher - 13th overall in the 60 meter dash. Other Alma sprinters included Mat Lambourn (West Branch/Ogemaw Heights), Derek Curry (Peck), Matt Edwards (West Branch/Ogemaw Heights) and Eric Braun (Hale).

Edwards went on to qualify for the 60 meter hurdles, finishing sixth with a time of 9.31 after qualifying at 9.42.

The team returns to preparation for the outdoor season which begins Mar. 25 at the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tenn.

Cheyenne Luzynski

Cheyenne Luzynski

Alma College Athletics appointed Cheyenne Luzynski as head volleyball coach beginning with the 2007 spring non-traditional season. Luzynski is the eighth head coach in the 31-year history of Alma College volleyball.

Luzynski has served as an assistant volleyball coach for two seasons and has led the junior varsity program during that time. She has served as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program, leading its junior varsity program and is an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s track and field teams at Alma College. Additionally, Luzynski has been named an assistant Athletic Director and serves as the Senior Woman Administrator within the department.
