Jacobs and Percival Earn All-MIAA Recognition

ALMA, Mich. - Greg Jacobs and Kyle Percival have earned recognition for their performances at the MIAA Championships May 5-6, as the conference announced both student-athletes earned All-MIAA accolades for their respective track and field finishes.

Senior Greg Jacobs (Traverse City) successfully defended his MIAA Championship in the javelin with a throw of 184-9. The conference champion in each respective event automatically earns All-MIAA status. Just shy of the NCAA provisional qualifying distance, Jacobs will look to hit the NCAA mark in the coming weeks.

Freshman Kyle Percival (Lansing/Waverly) earned All-MIAA recognition in his first semester at Alma after transferring from Grand Valley State University at the semester. With 15 unique men’s MIAA Champions in the respective events, Percival was one of just five additional All-MIAA selections. The freshman ran the 100 meter dash in 11.04 in the prelims and ran the event in 11.10 in the finals. The meet champion - Hope’s Erik George - crossed the line in 11.04. In addition to his speed in the 100 meter, Percival finished third in the 200 meter with a time of 22.82 after qualifying with a time of 22.84.
