SWIMMING & DIVING: LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION CLASSES
Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course
American Red Cross training provides certification for Traditional Pool Lifeguarding, Waterfront Lifeguarding, Waterpark Lifeguarding and Shallow Water Attending. The course will teach the following skills:
• Surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries
• Rescue skills - in the water and on land
• First aid training and professional rescuer CPR
• Professional lifeguard responsibilities
Person must attend all four days of classes. Class costs $175.
Saturday, March 8th & Sunday, March 9th
8:00am - 4:30pm with a 30 min. lunch break
Alma High School Pool
1500 Pine Ave, Alma, MI
*Pool entrance is at the last building on the left
at the end of the parking lot
Saturday, March 15th & Sunday, March 16th
8:00am - 4:30pm with a 30 min. lunch break
Alma College Pool
614 W. Superior Street, Alma, MI
*Pool is located in the Hogan Physical Education Building
15 years-old minimum age requirement
Bring pencil, note paper, swim suit and towel
You will be required to get in the water for the training
Course Instructor is Ivyrose Hess
**For re-certification, a challenge course ($75) can be offered on the last day of class
