HOLLAND, Mich. - Alma College men's swimming and diving may not have found a team win, but that does not mean they did not find success Saturday at Hope College. Despite a team loss of 111-83, Alma saw many standout performances.

"With lifetime and season bests achieved entering the MIAA Championships, I'm optimistic," said head coach Kyle Schack. "Our team continues to respond to feedback in practice and use it in competition and the results can be seen as we continue to get faster throughout the year."

Individually, Steven Rose (Essexville/Garber) was a dual event winner, taking honors on both the one- and three-meter boards while Luke Livingston (Trenton) went an unshaved best time in the 200 free, touching out in 1:54.82. Rounding out top performers for the Scots was Anderson Minnick (St. Johns) who went a lifetime best in the 100 free with a time of 57.96.

The Maroon and Cream now look ahead to the MIAA Championships Feb. 8-10 at Jenison High School in Jenison, Mich.

Alma College is one 240 institutions nationwide — and one of only four Michigan institutions — selected for inclusion in the Colleges of Distinction Guidebook, which profiles institutions that are consistently recognized for quality teaching, the kinds of experiences available to students, and how well students do after they graduate.
