SOFTBALL: Scots Win 12-0 in First Round NCAA Action
Behind a break out offensive performance and strong pitching, the Alma College Scots defeat Maryville College 12-0.

SOFTBALL: 2007 ALL-MIAA TEAM
Senior Kay McDonald was named MIAA Most Valuable Pitcher and is one of the five Scots named to the All-MIAA Team.

 

Thirty-four percent of Alma students participate in intercollegiate athletics. Alma College competes at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the oldest existing athletic conference in the nation.

Dennis Griffin

Dennis Griffin

Denny Griffin is heading into his 26th year at Alma College and his 20th at the helm of the Scots softball program. He moved into the head softball coaching position in 1989 after two years as assistant coach. His teams have never fallen lower than third place in conference standings and 12 of his last 14 teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to his softball duties, Griffin is the program director for the Athletic Training Education Program. He teaches first aid/CPR and sports medicine classes in the Exercise and Health Science Department.
