Alma Storms Back to Defeat Olivet

RADIO BROADCAST OF SATURDAY GAMES

HOLLAND, Mich. - Alma College softball defeated Olivet in the first round of consolation play in the MIAA Tournament Friday afternoon, 9-1.

Kay McDonald (Rosebush/Mt. Pleasant) threw the complete five inning game, striking out seven and walking four while scattering just two hits and one earned run.

Alma scored eight runs in the top of the third and added another in the top of the fifth to garner their nine runs. No Scot generated more than one hit on RBI for the day and only Missy Morcom (Chelsea) would score more than one run.

The Scots now face St. Mary's again at noon Saturday in Holland after the Belles knocked the Scots to consolation play in Friday's opening game, 3-2. The Belles also swept the Scots in the regular season meeting earlier this year.
