In game one freshman catcher Shannon Harrington (Dewitt/St. Johns) went 2-for-3 to pace the Scots with an RBI. Senior pitcher Leigh Ann LaFave (Bark River/Escanaba) threw a complete seven-inning game, scattering seven hits and striking out five.

Anne Westerman (Gaylord/St. Mary Cathedral) scored the game-winning run with a two-out triple in the top of the third.as Megan Knochel (Pinconning) drove her in with another triple. The Scots scored again in the top of the sixth when Amy Gaudard (Mt. Pleasant) led off with a single and head coach Denny Griffin sent Andrea Lunsted (Haslett) in to pinch run. Lunsted headed to second with a passed ball when Harrington doubled into left center to drive the insurance run across the plate.

Senior pitcher Melissa Tavidian (New Hudson/South Lyon) scattered eight hits, allowing two earned runs while striking out six.

Westerman got on base in the top of the sixth with a base on balls to give the Scots a base runner before Knochel flied out to center field. Laura Bell (Walled Lake/Western) came to the plate and doubled down the right field line to score Westerman. The Scots went down with a Megan Colligan (Northville/Novi) fly ball to center and a Gaudard ground out to the pitcher to end the inning and, in the end, the Scots chances of an undefeated MIAA season.
