Compiled by Mike Slesinski

ALMA, Mich. - Alma College softball hosts long time conference rival Hope Wednesday, March 30, at 2:30 p.m., at Scots Park in Alma.

While Alma graduated its core in 2004, the young Scots have picked up four straight wins after opening the season with a 4-4 record and Florida and dropping two more to Ohio Northern before getting back on the winning track against Ohio Wesleyan and Defiance over the last week.

Since 1998, the Scots are 12-2 against Hope, including last year’s series split against the Flying Dutch. A year ago, Hope won the first game, 2-1 while Alma came back to take game two, 2-1. Prior to 2004, the last time the Scots and Flying Dutch split the series dates to 2001.

Alma enters the contest with an 8-6 record while Hope boasts an 8-2 record on the season. Hope’s eight wins on its spring break tilt in Florida matches a school record and Flying Dutch pitcher Becky Whitman picked up four wins on Hope’s southern swing.
