Phil Hansen is in his 17th year with Alma College and 14th as assistant softball coach. A 1983 graduate of Northern Michigan University, he is the downtown development/economic development director for the City of St. Louis. At Alma, Hansen has been an assistant men's basketball coach and Hogan Physical Education Center building coordinator.

 

Alma College students have the ability to design their own area of academic concentration, with the assistance of a faculty advisor, to meet specific educational or career goals. In recent years, students have graduated with Programs of Emphasis majors in such fields as arts management, archaeology and anthropology, environmental policy and community advocacy, foreign service and international law, and music technology and digital media.

Dennis Griffin

Dennis Griffin

Denny Griffin is heading into his 26th year at Alma College and his 20th at the helm of the Scots softball program. He moved into the head softball coaching position in 1989 after two years as assistant coach. His teams have never fallen lower than third place in conference standings and 12 of his last 14 teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to his softball duties, Griffin is the program director for the Athletic Training Education Program. He teaches first aid/CPR and sports medicine classes in the Exercise and Health Science Department.
