SOFTBALL: Bats Stay Quiet in 7-0 Season Ending Loss to Coe College
In their second game at the NCAA Regional Tournament, the Scots fell to Coe College by the score of 7-0 to be eliminated from play.

SOFTBALL: Scots Fall to Wartburg, 4-0
With two swings of the bat, Wartburg tallied two two run homeruns to send the Scots to the losers bracket 4-0.

SOFTBALL: Morcom One of Six Scots Honored on All-MIAA Teams
Four Alma College Scots were named First Team All-MIAA and two Second Team All-MIAA in recognition of their fine seasons.

SOFTBALL: Tara Leddy Named Pitcher of the Week
After throwing two shut out wins and picking up a pair of saves last week, freshman Tara Leddy was named MIAA Pitcher of the week.

SOFTBALL: Scots Make Quick Work of Olivet to Claim MIAA Regular Season Crown
With today's win over Olivet College by the score of 12-3, the Scots stand alone atop the MIAA Standings.

 

Alma is one of seven Michigan colleges and universities to hold membership in the Omicron Delta Kappa Society, the national leadership society that recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character. The College also has 19 other national departmental honor societies.

Dennis Griffin

Dennis Griffin

Denny Griffin is heading into his 26th year at Alma College and his 20th at the helm of the Scots softball program. He moved into the head softball coaching position in 1989 after two years as assistant coach. His teams have never fallen lower than third place in conference standings and 12 of his last 14 teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to his softball duties, Griffin is the program director for the Athletic Training Education Program. He teaches first aid/CPR and sports medicine classes in the Exercise and Health Science Department.
