MEN'S TENNIS: Scots Pick Up First Conference Win, Beat Adrian 9-0

Alma, Mi.- The Alma College Men's Tennis Team improved to 7-2 on the season as they defeated the Adrian Bulldogs by the score of 9-0 to pick up their fifth straight victory.

Everyone played well for the Scots in the sweep, but Dan Fraser (Lexington/Croswell-Lexington) and Alex Montoye (Mt. Pleasant) put forth especially dominating performance as they both won their singles 6-0, 6-0 and teamed up to win their doubles match 8-5.

The Maroon and Cream will look to keep their winning streak going as they will host Indiana Tech. at 2 p.m. this Saturday, Mar. 15 in the Allan J. Stone Rec Center.

Dennis Griffin

Denny Griffin is heading into his 27th year at Alma College and his 20th at the helm of the Scots softball program. He moved into the head softball coaching position in 1989 after two years as assistant coach. His teams have never fallen lower than third place in conference standings and 12 of his last 14 teams have qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to his softball duties, Griffin is the program director for the Athletic Training Education Program. He teaches first aid/CPR and sports medicine classes in the Exercise and Health Science Department.
