MEN'S TENNIS: Scots Fall to Flying Dutchmen 9-0 Despite Close Matches

ALMA, Mich. - Despite a 9-0 loss to Hope College Wednesday at the Stone Recreation Center, the Scots are making steady improvement and constantly closing the gap in MIAA competition, according to head coach Chris Sandro.

Alma kept it close in doubles action and at five doubles Tom Hardin (Traverse City) forced a tiebreaker, losing in the tiebreaker 10-6.

Alma is now 11-5 overall and 1-3 in MIAA action.

Alma College students report levels of educational experiences and faculty interaction that exceed the national norms by significant amounts, according to the findings of the 2007 National Survey of Student Engagement. In the 2006 study, Alma students reported a level of interaction with faculty that ranked among the top five percent in the nation.

Judd Folske

Judd Folske

Judd Folske is entering his first year as Alma College Head Baseball Coach in the 2007-2008 season after spending two years as an assistant coach with the program. Coach Folske joined the Maroon and Cream in the fall of 2005 after stops at NCAA Division I Central Michigan University, and stints at Div. II schools Saginaw Valley State University and Ferris State University. He also serves the athletic department as assistant athletic director.

While head coach of the CMU Chippewas, Folske posted a 131-98 mark. In 2000, he finished in a tie for first in the MAC conference with a record of 41-17 (18-8). Folske retired after the 2003 season at CMU, and went to work as an assistant at SVSU, where he worked in that capacity for two seasons.
