Ferris State Review

ALMA, Mich. - The Alma men's tennis team squared off against Ferris State's men's tennis club team on Feb. 17 and defeated the Bulldog club team, 8-1.

Ahmet Demir defeated Kyle Shuberg, 6-0, 6-3 in number one singles action while number two singles Dan Fraser won 6-0, 6-2. At the number three singles position, former Alma College men's tennis player Mark O'Bryan defeated Scot Chris Noel, 6-4, 6-2.

Ryan Kelly, Josh Sanders and Tristan Wilson each defeated their respective opponents at the four, five and six spots.

In doubles action, Demir and Noel defeated O'Bryan and Shuberg 8-2 while Fraser and Sanders defeated Nick Andres and Mark Doren, 8-5. Rounding out doubles action, Ryan Kelly and Tristan Wilson defeated Won Woo Shon and Bob Thomas, 8-3 for the victory.

Nathan Kronewetter

Nathan Kronewetter

Alma College men’s soccer is in the process of rebuilding a once dominating program, and has made strides under the direction of Nathan Kronewetter who was hired before the 2006 season.

Kronewetter earned his bachelor of arts from Hope College in 1996 in Studio Art and continued his studies at Ohio Wesleyan University in Education. A four-year player and three-year starter for the Flying Dutchmen, he served as a senior captain in 1996. Nathan led Hope to three MIAA Championships and two NCAA playoff berths including an NCAA quarterfinal appearance in 1994.
