MEN'S SOCCER CELEBRATES SENIOR AND PARENT'S DAY

Despite the postponement of the Alma's Men's Soccer game due to a norovirus at Hope College, the Scots' program celebrated Senior and Parent's Day on Saturday at Scotland Yard.

Head Coach Nate Kronewetter conducted a well-attended intrasquad scrimmage on a blustery afternoon on Alma's home field. The spirit of the day was impressive and the team played a 90-minute scrimmage that took the place of the scheduled Senior and Parent's Day game against the Flying Dutchmen.

Following the scrimmage, a pot-luck lunch was served where players, family and friends gathered to share stories and talk Alma soccer. A good time was had by all and it was a great chance to say thank you to the seniors for all they have done for the program.

No word on whether the Hope game will be re-scheduled but the decision will be posted on the website as soon as it is announced.

Alma's "green" residence hall, Wright Hall, was completed in January 2005. The modern, 60-bed apartment-style hall features a number of environmentally friendly features, including geothermal heating and cooling, recycled-content ceiling tiles and carpeting, energy-efficient windows, rooftop solar heating panels, energy-efficient showers and washing machines, and a computerized energy monitoring system.
