MEN'S SOCCER LOSES 2-0 AT TRINE UNIVERSITY

The Scots' Men's Soccer team continued its 2008 season on Saturday whey they traveled to play host Trine University in a league game on cool, crisp Midwest Fall afternoon. Alma dropped a 2-0 decision to the Thunder and with the loss, the Scots fell to 0-4 in MIAA play and 1-9 overall for the season.

Trine used two first half goals to record the win and improved to 5-5 overall (3-1 in MIAA). The Scots will continue league play on Wednesday when they host MIAA rival Kalamazoo College at Scotland Yard. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start.

 

Alma College students report levels of educational experiences and faculty interaction that exceed the national norms by significant amounts, according to the findings of the 2007 National Survey of Student Engagement. In the 2006 study, Alma students reported a level of interaction with faculty that ranked among the top five percent in the nation.

Nathan Kronewetter

Alma College men’s soccer is in the process of rebuilding a once dominating program, and has made strides under the direction of Nathan Kronewetter who was hired before the 2006 season.

Kronewetter earned his bachelor of arts from Hope College in 1996 in Studio Art and continued his studies at Ohio Wesleyan University in Education. A four-year player and three-year starter for the Flying Dutchmen, he served as a senior captain in 1996. Nathan led Hope to three MIAA Championships and two NCAA playoff berths including an NCAA quarterfinal appearance in 1994.
