ALMA MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS ROCHESTER COLLEGE

ALMA MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS ROCHESTER COLLEGE

After a tough loss to Siena Heights University on Saturday, the Scots Men's Soccer team bounced back on Wednesday and defeated Rochester College 4-0 at Scotland Yard.  After leading 1-0 on a first half goal by Santi Lopez, Alma busted out for three more goals in the second half to take control of the contest and improve their record to 1-1 on the 2008 season.

The goals in the second half were scored by Andrew Waligorski, Steve Lux and Cameron Alman and were good enough for the victory as Anthony Bergstrom and Drew Lindamood combined on a four-save shutout for the Scots.

Overall, Alma outshot Rochester College 15-7 and were led by Lopez's five shots with three more coming from Mark Daisy. The Scots are now off until September 9 when they host Northwood University at Scotland Yard, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

The Corporation for National and Community Service named Alma College to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll in both 2008 and 2009 for exemplary service efforts and service to disadvantaged youth. The Honor Roll is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-learning and civic engagement.
