MEN'S SOCCER: Mark Daisy Named All-MIAA First Team

Alma, Mi. - For the second consecutive year, Mark Daisy has been honored by being named to the All-MIAA First Team. Daisy came to Alma after a year at Ohio Weslyan and has been an elite player in the conference and a key cog in the Scots program ever since.

Daisy finished fourth in the league with six goals on the season and found the back of the net 10 times overall.

Although playing during a down time in the Alma College Men's Soccer Program, Daisy's presence on the field raised the level of his teammates and gave the Scots a fighting chance every time they took the field.

This season saw a noticeable improvement for the Scots as second year Head Coach Nathan Kronewetter infused the team with his first recruiting class. Daisy's leadership for the young players was key in their development especially as they watched him continually get up after being roughed up by every opponent all season and battle back no matter how dinged up he was to fight for the Scots.

Despite playing during a time of rebuilding, it was obvious that Daisy was always one of the elite players in the area and will be remembered at Alma as one of the most dynamic men's soccer players in recent history.

More than 100 Alma College students and staff traveled to destinations in New Mexico, Tennessee, Philadelphia, Louisiana and North Carolina for service projects during winter break in February 2007. “Alternative Break service experiences continue to gain popularity on Alma College’s campus,” says Sallie Scheide, assistant director in the Center for Responsible Leadership.
