MEN'S SOCCER: Scots End Season With Win, Defeat Albion 1-0

Nov. 3, 2007

Alma, Mi. - Despite being out shot 22 to nine, the Scots pulled away with a season finale win over the Britons of Albion College by the score of 1-0.

Freshman Anthony Bergstrom (St. Johns/St. Johns) made the goal shrink for Albion as they could not find away to scoot one passed the Alma Goalkeeper who recorded eight saves in the match.

The only goal of the game came in the ninth minute as Mark Daisy (Mt. Pleasant/Mt. Pleasant) found Kevin Cross (Columbus, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) with a cross who found the back of the net off a header.

With the win, the Scots ended their season with a 5-13-2 record that hardly does justice to the intensity and competitiveness that they played with all season. There were very few games that the Scots weren't in and very few losses that couldn't have easily gone the other way. The 2007 season was definately a step in the right direction for the Alma College Men's Soccer Program.
