MEN'S SOCCER: Scots Lose in Last Minute, Olivet 2 - Alma 1

The upstart Scots were dealt another heartbreaking loss, falling to Olivet in the last minute of regulation, 1-2.

The Alma College Men's Soccer Team played Olivet to 1-1 tie through 89 minutes but a Comets' goal with 13 seconds left in the match dealt the Scots the 1-2 loss, in a season that has seen Alma prove that they can play with every team in the conference.

The Scots only goal of the game came off a header from Mark Daisy (Mt. Pleasant/Mt. Pleasant) in the 31st minute.  Santiago Lopez (Midland/Midland Dow) was credited with the assist.

 The Scots have a few days off before traveling to Holland this Saturday, Oct. 6 for a match against Coach Kronewetter's alma mater, Hope College. The match is set to bein at 2:00 p.m.

Nathan Kronewetter

Alma College men’s soccer is in the process of rebuilding a once dominating program, and has made strides under the direction of Nathan Kronewetter who was hired before the 2006 season.

Kronewetter earned his bachelor of arts from Hope College in 1996 in Studio Art and continued his studies at Ohio Wesleyan University in Education. A four-year player and three-year starter for the Flying Dutchmen, he served as a senior captain in 1996. Nathan led Hope to three MIAA Championships and two NCAA playoff berths including an NCAA quarterfinal appearance in 1994.
