Alma Shut Out 3-0 By Olivet on Homecoming

ALMA, Mich. - On Homecoming Saturday at Scotland Yard, the men's soccer team lost 3-0 to Olivet College to fall to 1-8-1 on the season and 0-6 in MIAA action. It is the third straight shut out the Scots have been handed.

Olivet scored twice in the first half - in the 30th and 44th minutes, respectively and added an insurance goal in the 79th minute. Andrew Evans had the game-winning goal for the Comets while Kevin Hagan and Brian Knechtges scored for the Comets as well.

Alma returns to action Oct. 10 when they travel to Albion to face the Britons in a 4 p.m. match.

 

Students learn important leadership principles for the 21st century from internationally recognized speakers like Madeleine Albright and Vicente Fox and by participating in international study opportunities through inventive programs like the Center for Responsible Leadership and the Posey Global Leadership Fellows Program.

Nathan Kronewetter

Alma College men’s soccer is in the process of rebuilding a once dominating program, and has made strides under the direction of Nathan Kronewetter who was hired before the 2006 season.

Kronewetter earned his bachelor of arts from Hope College in 1996 in Studio Art and continued his studies at Ohio Wesleyan University in Education. A four-year player and three-year starter for the Flying Dutchmen, he served as a senior captain in 1996. Nathan led Hope to three MIAA Championships and two NCAA playoff berths including an NCAA quarterfinal appearance in 1994.
