Alma Loses at Adrian, 4-2

ADRIAN, Mich. - Alma College fought tough, ultimately losing to Adrian College 4-2. Freshman Frankie Brun (Oscoda/Culver Academy) scored both goals for the Maroon and Cream, notching six shots and landing three on goal in the loss.

Dan Laatz (Cedar Springs) recorded the assist for Brun on the final goal of the game.

Adrian scored two early goals - at 15:46 and 19:13 - to take a commanding 2-0 lead. Brun was able to answer back with an unassisted goal in the 22nd minute. But Adrian got past Alma keeper James Thomson (Lachine/Alpena) 40 seconds later to make the game 3-1. The teams played without a goal until the 69 minute mark when Adrian scored its final goal. Brun found the back of the net on the Laatz assist at the 81:27 mark.

Alma returns to play Saturday (Sept. 30) when it travels to Hope College. Alma is now 1-5-1 (0-3-0 MIAA).

More than a third of all Alma students take part in at least one performance each year. The College offers majors in theatre, dance and music, but students of all majors may join in productions. The Remick Heritage Center for the Performing Arts is the region’s premiere performing arts facility.
