MEN'S GOLF FINISHES 5TH AT MIAA JAMBOREE #4

The Alma Men's golf team finished in fifth place on Saturday at the MIAA Jamboree #4 hosted by Adrian at the Lenawee Country Club. The Scots had a final team score of 309 and finished ahead of Calvin, Kalamazoo and Adrian. Olivet won the competition with a score of 291.1

Alma's Brian Rabedioux led the squad with a course low-score of 70 over the 18 holes, earning him Tri-Medalist honors along with Olivet's Eric Ross and Trine's Shawn Floyd. The Scots' David Moilanen also cracked the top ten by tying for ninth with four other golfers with a score of 74.

Next up on the 2008 schedule for Alma is MIAA Jamboree #5 next Saturday, September 27, when they play at Zollner Golf Club, hosted by Trine.

 

The Corporation for National and Community Service named Alma College to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll in both 2008 and 2009 for exemplary service efforts and service to disadvantaged youth. The Honor Roll is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-learning and civic engagement.

Judd Folske

Judd Folske

Judd Folske is entering his first year as Alma College Head Baseball Coach in the 2007-2008 season after spending two years as an assistant coach with the program. Coach Folske joined the Maroon and Cream in the fall of 2005 after stops at NCAA Division I Central Michigan University, and stints at Div. II schools Saginaw Valley State University and Ferris State University. He also serves the athletic department as assistant athletic director.

While head coach of the CMU Chippewas, Folske posted a 131-98 mark. In 2000, he finished in a tie for first in the MAC conference with a record of 41-17 (18-8). Folske retired after the 2003 season at CMU, and went to work as an assistant at SVSU, where he worked in that capacity for two seasons.
