ALMA MEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES TO NORTHERN MICHIGAN 80-48

The Alma Men’s Basketball team completed its two-game Upper Peninsula trip on Saturday when they traveled to Northern Michigan University. The Scots dropped a 80-48 decision and now return home with a non-conference record of 0-4 as they prepare for a home game against Concordia College on Tuesday at Cappaert Gymnasium. That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start.

Against Northern Michigan, the Scots were plagued by shooting woes, which was tough to counter against the more experienced Wildcats. For the game, Alma finished with a 30% shooting percentage, while Northern Michigan was 42% at the end of the contest.

Northern Michigan led 41-24 after the first half, with Jordan Redditt leading the way for the Scots with seven points. The Wildcats were paced by Marc Renelique, who notched 13 points in the first frame.

Alma was outscored 39-24 in the second half and for the game, Tommy Erickson paced the Scots with 10 points. Kevin Ginther led Alma with five rebounds and Cory Schneider was credited with two three-pointers in the contest. Isaac Thayler finished the game with eight points, as he was a perfect eight for eight from the free throw line.
