ALMA, Mich. - AJ Jones (Detroit/Martin Luther King)
tallied 24 points and five assists on his 20th birthday as he led the Scots to victory against Elmhurst College, 73-62.  With the win tonight, the Scots improve their home court record to 2-0. Now 3-2 on the season, this win marks the Scots' first back-to-back wins since the 2000-01 season when the Maroon and Cream opened the season with a 4-0 record.

Alma defeated Elmhurst with excellent shot selection and team play.  The Maroon and Cream shot the visitors right out of the gym tonight as they knocked down 60 percent of their shots from behind the three point arc  on 12-of-20 shooting and 57 percent from the field.

The Scots brought a balanced offensive attack, with Jones the only player to reach double digits in the game with his team-high 24.  Jayme Fazi (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) and Greg Nelson (Manistique) both came off the bench and scored nine points in quality minutes for Alma.  James Barnhart (West Branch/Ogemaw Heights) added seven points for the Scots in 17 minutes of play and Ricky Clarkson (Saginaw/Heritage) and Mark Barnes (Saginaw) contributed six points each.

The Scots will be traveling for the rest of the week as they head to Franklin, Ind. to play in the Franklin College Tournament Dec. 10-11.
