2008: Played in all 10 games... second on team and 9th in MIAA in rushing with 477 yards and 10 TD's... led the team and the MIAA in passing with 2,956 yards and 31 TD's... posted a QB rating of 150.29 that was tops in the MIAA... led the team and the MIAA in total offense with 3,433 total yards... 4th in the MIAA in both scoring and scoring (TD's)... Second Team All-MIAA Offense... MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for weeks 1, 7, and 11.

The memory and spiritual ideals of the late Bishop Thomas Makarios remain alive in a figurative sculpture that was dedicated in May 2009 near the center of campus. The Bishop, professor of religious studies at Alma for 25 years, was founder of the American Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church of India and the first Metropolitan Bishop of Canada, United Kingdom and Europe, and South Africa.

Jim Cole

Jim Cole ‘74 enters his 18th season at the helm of the Scots. In 2004, Cole led the Scots to the MIAA title and a berth in the NCAA Division III national playoffs, the second time in three years the Maroon and Cream advanced to the NCAA postseason.

A former All-MIAA and All-District quarterback for the Scots, Cole draws on the championship experiences of playing for the 1970, ‘71 and ‘72 MIAA co-champions and coaching the 1988 co-champ’s defense.

Cole sports a career mark of 105-67-0, making him Alma’s winningest football coach.
