FOOTBALL: Mackenzie McGrady Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

Nov. 5, 2007

Alma, Mi. - For the second straight week and the third time this season, Alma College's sophomore quarterback, Mackenzie McGrady (Portland/Portland), was honored by the MIAA as the Offensive Player of the week.

In Week 10 action, McGrady went 20 for 32 for 382 yards and six touchdowns and added another score on the ground in a huge win over Kalamazoo College by the score 56-17.

The six touchdown passes tied the Alma College and MIAA record for touchdown passes in a single game that is held by former Alma College signal caller Steve Slowke who accomplished the feat in 2001.

The win was pivotal for the Scots as now they control their own destiny, simply needing to be Adrian College next week for a share of the MIAA Conference Championship.

Coming into the Kalamazoo game, McGrady was ranked 10th in the nation in total offense and after his 400 plus yard performance on Saturday, should be moving even higher up that list.

Congratulations Mackenzie.
