FOOTBALL: Mackenzie McGrady Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

Oct. 29, 2007

Alma College sophomore Quarterback, Mackenzie McGrady (Portland/Portland) was named the Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the MIAA for week nine.

McGrady played almost flawlessly in the 38-25 win over conference foe Olivet College, racking up 331 total yards, including 254 on 24-33 passing and 77 on the ground on 14 carries. McGrady also connected on three touchdown passes through the air.

With the win, the Scots kept their MIAA Championship hopes alive and with a little help from Olivet against Hope next week, could very well find themselves in a three way tie atop the MIAA conference. The Scots will look to keep their four game winning streak going as they take on the Hornets of Kalamazoo College this Saturday.

Alma College students have the ability to design their own area of academic concentration, with the assistance of a faculty advisor, to meet specific educational or career goals. In recent years, students have graduated with Programs of Emphasis majors in such fields as arts management, archaeology and anthropology, environmental policy and community advocacy, foreign service and international law, and music technology and digital media.
