Josh Brehm Named to Don Hansen's Football Gazette Team of the Week

Josh Brehm (Ithaca) has been tabbed as one of the nation's best players by Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

Brehm currently ranks number one in the nation in total offense, averaging 410.1 yards per game.

He was named the MIAA's Offensive Player of the Week this week - for the sixth time in his career. He owns Alma's school records in total offense and passing yards, among others.

He set a new NCAA All-Divisions record with 288 pass attempts without an interception until his miscue against Albion on Oct. 21.

The Scots travel to Olivet College this weekend for a 1 p.m. game.

 

Since 2003, twenty-three Alma College students have won prestigious national fellowships, scholarships and awards, including 13 Fulbright fellowships and multiple Udall, Truman, Marshall and Gates-Cambridge scholarships.

Jim Cole '74 enters his 17th season at the helm of the Scots. In 2004, Cole led the Scots to the MIAA title and a berth in the NCAA Division III national playoffs, the second time in three years the Maroon and Cream advanced to the NCAA postseason.

A former All-MIAA and All-District quarterback for the Scots, Cole draws on the championship experiences of playing for the 1970, '71 and '72 MIAA co-champions and coaching the 1988 co-champ's defense.

Cole sports a career mark of 105-67-0, making him Alma's winningest football coach.
