Josh Brehm Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week
ALMA, Mich. - Alma senior quarterback Josh Brehm of Ithaca accounted for more than 400 yards of total offense as the Scots defeated UW-Eau Claire 33-30 in overtime Saturday (Sept. 16). He completed 36-of-57 passes for 358 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. He also rushed for two touchdowns gaining 76 yards on 24 carries. He is being honored as player of the week for the fifth time in his career.On pace to have another banner year, Brehm averages 316.5 yards passing per game. He is the school record holder for yards passing in a career with 7,891 entering this weekend’s game against Wittenberg. His 57 pass attempts against UW-Eau Claire ranks sixth on the pass attempts in a game category while his 36 pass completions against UW-Eau Claire ties him for fourth all-time for pass completions in a game. It is the most completions in a game for the Ithaca native.
Brehm also holds the school record for career completions with 671 entering this weekend’s contest. He has 60 career touchdown passes - a school record - and his 8,916 yards of total offense increases his lead in that career category to over 1,000 yards over Steve Slowke’s (1999-02) total of 7,521 yards.
Brehm leads the Scots into action this Saturday when they travel to Wittenberg to take on the Tigers.
